A Few Practical Notes

Reversal happens after the style has been applied, so decorative symbols and spaces keep their place at the edges of the line. A line that contains accents or other combining marks can end up with a mark on the wrong letter. What is the difference between backwards text and upside-down text?

Backwards text reverses the order of the characters and keeps their shapes. Upside-down text also rotates each letter through half a turn, so you read it by turning the screen around.

Why do only some letters change in Mirror Text?

Unicode contains mirrored versions of only a handful of Latin letters. The tool swaps those and leaves the rest as they are, so some letters, such as O, H or A, look the same either way.

Does the tool reverse the order of words or the letters?

Both, because it reverses the entire line. Hello world becomes dlrow olleH, so the second word comes first and each word is spelled backwards.

How can I check whether a phrase is a palindrome?

Reverse it and compare. A palindrome, such as level or noon, reads the same in both directions. For a sentence, ignore the spaces and punctuation.
